Baldur’s Gate 3 Unfairly Made Humans The Worst Choice For Player Race

Baldur’s Gate 3 offers players a wide range of exciting choices for their character’s race, from ancient mythical creatures to evil and shadowy creatures. A quest in Baldur’s Gate 3 ends with a short ending, and it’s easy to surmise that the developer, Larian Studios, intentionally included the destruction, as humans are often the least optimal choice to choose from in the game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 uses the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition rules, and with one notable exception, humans are generally weak. In the 2014 D&D Players’ Handbook, the human version shown received +1 to all ability scores… and that’s it. This is a significant advantage, especially compared to everything else introduced to the gameplay, as most classes only require a two or three stat increase to be effective.

Humans can only be freed by an optional variant used by most players, where they only receive two stat points. However, they do get a skill proficiency and a feat, with free feats being a great advantage at level 1.

The Humans In Baldur’s Gate 3 Are The Worst Race In The Game

In Baldur’s Gate 3, there’s only one option available to the humans, and it’s a scary one. If you choose to play as a human, you gain additional skill proficiency in your race, your carrying capacity increases by a quarter, and you can equip yourself with light armor, a shield, and weapons such as a bow, sword, halberd, and glaives. gain efficiency.

It has a basic selection of features compared to the other races in the game. If you have a warrior in your group, the carrying capacity is pointless as they can become the party’s pack mule without having enough skills, but you’ll have at least four options to choose from with your class and background. Skill-focused classes like Bard and Rogue also allow you to choose your skills, so you can go for them if you care so much.

Choosing additional weapons isn’t advisable, as most classes will give you the necessary skills for the weapons you’ll need. Classes that don’t use these are like wizards that rely on magic. Shield proficiency is a bit more practical, but it’s never critical to your development, as there are races that will provide moderate armor proficiency, like a Shield Dwarf.
