Here it is finally! The launch of Mortal Kombat 1 is very close. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a new fighting game from our NetherRealm studio, so in addition to a new Injustice, Mortal Kombat is just what the fighting game community needed to clean up the slate. Fans are excited for fast-paced action, returning characters, and, most importantly, the creative brutality of the beloved studio.

With only a few weeks left until the full game is released, the Netherlands-based developer studio has announced the opening times of the pre-order beta. Unfortunately, as mentioned earlier, pre-orders are mandatory to access the beta, but players can count on some gameplay and other content that will be showcased throughout the week. For everyone else, please prepare for your battle and have your gamepad ready.
Mortal Kombat 1: When Does MK1 Beta Start?
As of the time of writing this article, Mortal Kombat 1 beta codes have been received, so those who pre-ordered on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S should check their inboxes. Per the FAQ section, the pre-order MK1 beta will officially begin on Friday, August 18 at 11 a.m. EDT / 10 a.m. CDT / 8 a.m. PDT and will continue until Monday, August 21 at 11 a.m. EDT / 10 a.m. CDT / 8 a.m. PDT This beta is available to anyone who has purchased the Standard, Premium, or Collector’s Edition.
Once you’ve received your Mortal Kombat 1 beta code, you can redeem it by visiting the PlayStation Store on PS5 and the Microsoft Store on Xbox Series X/S. Note that people who participated in the stress test do not have automatic access rights to the beta. Those who preordered digitally will have automatic access to the beta. If you order through a Digger, you will receive your Warner Bros. You will receive your code through your account.
Mortal Kombat 1: All Characters Available in MK1 Beta
As you might expect, the Mortal Kombat 1 beta is limited in terms of characters, but it does feature a number of popular characters. Pre-order cast includes:

- Johnny Cage

- Frost (Kameo)
- Sonya (Kameo)
- Jax (Kameo)
- Kano (Kameo)
